Rent Subsidy Program

helping artists thriveSanta Barbara’s entire culture is built around a deep appreciation for the Arts. From Solstice, to Fiesta, to a myriad of festivals, events, theatre, and concert dance, the performing arts are everywhere. The AMP Rent Subsidy Program plays a vital role in supporting the artists that make all of these incredible events possible by providing 40 hours per week of subsidized studio space. Each year we serve over 200 performing artists and thousands of their constituents.

Potential renters should fill out our Rental Request Form as well as a Rent Subsidy Application and email, mail or drop off to the Arts Mentorship Program, which will then be reviewed by the Rent Subsidy Committee. Once the committee sets the rate, the Rental Manager will set up a contract and an agreement with the artist.
