Our Mission

Arts Mentorship Program's (AMP) mission statement is to provide creative guidance, mentorship, and financial support to young and emerging performing artists in the Santa Barbara area who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity.

AMP provides five core programs: Scholarship Program, Mentorship Program, Rent Subsidy Program, NO Limits, and Artists for Equity.

Our Commitment to Equity:

The Arts Mentorship Program is devoted to promoting and developing access to dance education, working with like-minded organizations and individuals to promote equity in the arts, and operate with a spirit of inclusion.  We believe dance should be accessible and universally welcoming to all, regardless of race, religion, socio-economic background, sexual orientation, gender identity, and physical or mental ability. We are committed to promoting change, starting with our culture, environment, policies, and programs.  We call on our staff, students, families, community partners, and fellow industry leaders to take this pledge work to identify blind spots in our industry and make a safe and welcoming space for all who visit. We invite you to join us in this journey by following the @artsmentroshipprogram on Instagram.

“Diversity is being invited to the party; inclusion is being asked to dance.”
